What is 0-10V Dimming Control?
0-10V dimming control, also called 3 step dimming control or tri level dimming control.
Analog dimmable lighting system is a simple and widely used method for controlling the brightness of light fixtures, especially in commercial and industrial lighting applications. It allows for a range of dimming from full brightness to very low light levels.
Typical Application: Industrial and Warehouse Facilities, Commercial Spaces, Logistics, Distribution Centers, Storage Areas, Production Areas, Assembly Halls, High Bay, Daylight Harvesting Systems etc.
How it works?
1. With sufficient ambient light, the light won’t be switched on even if with motion signal.
2. With insufficient ambient light, the sensor switches on the light when motion is detected.
3. After elapse of hold time, the sensor dims the light at a low light level if no new motion is detected.
4. After elapse of standby period, the sensor switches off the light if no motion is detected in th direction zone.
Key Features and Advantages of 0-10V Dimming:
0-10V analog dimming works by sending a low-voltage DC signal (between 0 and 10 volts) to control the light output. At 10V, the light operates at full brightness, while at 0V, it can be fully dimmed or turned off, depending on the fixture. The technology is relatively simple and widely adopted, making it a reliable and cost-effective solution for dimming control in many types of lighting applications. Compared to more advanced digital dimming systems like DALI, 0-10V dimming is relatively low-cost and easy to implement, making it a good option for budget-conscious retrofit projects.
