Smart Home Motion Sensors
Smart Home Integration
With the technology grows rapidly, an increasing number of smart home appliances and smart building automationn systems are being developed to serve for people and lives. By utilizing microwave sensing module, microwave doppler radar techonology can be used in other commercial applications besides led luminaries, such as smart light switch, smart home thermostat, smart AC controller, humidifier, air purifier, security camera, security alarm, smart home toilets etc.
Smart Light Switch
The hospitality industry, particularly hotels, strives to provide warm and thoughtful services to its guests. This commitment to exceptional service can be observed in the efforts made by receptionists, hotel design, and the integration
of intelligent electronics. In recent times, an emerging trend in hotels involves replacing traditional light switches with smart light switches that embedded with microwave motion modules. This innovation addresses a common issue faced by guests in the dark night where individuals often struggle to find the correct light switch, randomly flipping different switches until the desired one is found. Smart light switches offer a solution to this problem by utilizing presence detection technology. When a guest is detected in the vicinity of the switch, the switch panel icons are illuminated for a few seconds, providing clear visibility and guidance. This small yet significant application of microwave technology significantly improves the overall guest experience.
Smart Home FCU Thermostat
As part of a smart home system, a smart thermostat serves as a climate controller for heating and cooling temperature. To create a comprehensive smart home, some individuals choose to install passive infrared (PIR) sensors to detect human presence and automatically control the thermostat’s operation. Taking this concept further, LITWHEAT designed an intelligent FCU (Fan Coil Unit) thermostat equipped with a HF motion module . When the high frequency module detects human occupancy within its designated zone, it sends a signal to the FCU, initiating its operation. Once individuals leave the area, the FCU thermostat automatically switches off the system after a hold time of 30 minutes, which can be adjusted. This hold time ensures that energy is conserved when the area is unoccupied, leading to improved efficiency and reduced energy consumption.
Smart Home Air Conditioning Controller
During the hoter summer, more and more people uses the air conditioner. Sometimes, people will forget to turn off air conditioner when leaves the room. LITWHEAT designs YW203 microwave presence sensor is specially designed for automatic air conditioner ON/OFF. In the evening, it remains constantly on. During the daytime, it will automatically turn on for 1 hour when detecting the person. After 1 hour, if the person is still in the room, air conditioner keeps working. Otherwise, the microwave presence sensor will cut off the air conditioner power. When the sensor redetect the person presence, people should use the IR remote controller to activiate the air conditioner.
The integration of microwave radar sensors into smart home not only enhance the functionality of devices but also provide convenience and efficiency in various scenarios.
Smart Home Toilet
The integration of a microwave motion sensor in a smart toilet contributes to a more convenient, hygienic, and user-friendly bathroom experience. This HF motion sensor detects the proximity and movement of individuals around the toilet, allowing for precise determination of their position and motion status. This data is then utilized to generate corresponding signals, enabling automatic control of the toilet functions, opening or closing the cover or flushing. The touchless toilet operation control minimizes the spread of germs and enhances overall cleanliness in the bathroom environment, improves accessibility for individuals with mobility challenges.
24Ghz KNX Human Presence Sensor
The HF KNX true presence detector utilizes 24GHz millimeter-wave radar technology and an advanced human motion occupancy algorithm to accurately identify whether people are present or absent by detecting subtle movements or static presence of vital human lifebeing such as breathing and head movement. The precise high frequency measurement ensures 100% reliable detection. Additionally, it offers constant lighting control, daylight harvesting. With a built-in photocell sensor and udvanced constant lux logic, 24Ghz occupancy sensors can detect light intensity and automatically adjust brightness.
Increasingly, more Building Management Systems (BMS) are integrating KNX, including motion detectors. KNX establishes a new standardized communication protocol for building automation, enabling seamless integration between lighting, HVAC, security, and other smart building systems, thereby enhancing user comfort, safety, and operational efficiency.
